Position Title -Senior AccountantDepartment - FinanceEmployment Type - Full-TimeExperience - 5+ Years Job PurposeThe Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining general ledger integrity, and supporting compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & CompliancePrepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsEnsure compliance with IFRS/GAAP and organizational accounting policiesManage month-end and year-end closing activitiesCoordinate with internal and external auditors during auditsEnsure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements including taxation and labor-related regulationsGeneral Ledger & Accounting OperationsMaintain and reconcile the general ledgerEnsure accurate posting of journal entries, accruals, and adjustmentsReconcile bank statements, intercompany balances, and balance sheet accountsReview accounting entries prepared by junior staffBudgeting, Forecasting & Financial AnalysisAssist in preparation of annual budgets and financial forecastsMonitor actual vs. budget performance and provide variance analysisSupport financial modeling and business analysis activitiesAccounts Payable & Receivable ManagementOversee accounts payable and receivable processesMonitor overdue receivables and coordinate collection activitiesEnsure vendor and customer account reconciliations are completed accuratelyProcess Improvement & SystemsIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiencyParticipate in ERP implementation and system enhancement projectsMaintain accounting policies and procedural documentationTeam Leadership & SupportMentor and guide junior accounting staffReview team deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliancePromote accounting best practices and continuous learning within the teamQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceProfessional certifications such as ACCA, CA, CPA, or CMA will be preferredExperience5+ years of progressive accounting experienceRequired Skills & CompetenciesTechnical CompetenciesAccounting & Financial ReportingIFRS/GAAP KnowledgeFinancial Analysis & ReportingTax Compliance & Regulatory UnderstandingAudit CoordinationERP Systems & Accounting SoftwareInternal Controls & Risk ManagementBehavioral CompetenciesAttention to detailStrong analytical skillsCommunication and collaborationAccountability and ownershipProblem-solving mindsetAbility to meet deadlinesLeadership and mentoring skills
